THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOST GENEROUS DONATION
On behalf of The DreamRunners NGO Zambia, a non-governmental organization specializing in the care of orphans & vulnerable children (OVCs), please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your most generous donation in support of the children of The Luya House Home for Boys in Lusaka, Zambia.
Your timely donation has not only enabled us to get current & pay ahead on our rent, but more importantly it has enabled us to initiate our first income-generating project, the rearing of 500 broiler chickens. We are so excited and enthusiastic about this project, as it is the first step in moving toward our goal of becoming a self-sustaining entity! Our children have been busily preparing the chicken house, which includes clearing the surrounding brush, scrubbing the floors & walls, spraying them with disinfectants, and sealing cracks & holes to prevent snakes from entering. Locks & chains have been installed on all access doors, preventing thieves from entering during the night. Proper lighting & heating bulbs have also been installed, allowing us to maintain the perfect temperature inside the house. Feed trays & drinker pans have been purchased, which must be continually raised up with ropes as the chickens grow, so their necks become long & strong. Bags of sawdust have been purchased which is strewn over the floor to absorb the chickens’ excrement.
An important component of our vision is to provide life-skills training for our children. By doing so, we are developing future business owners & entrepreneurs capable of sustaining themselves for the rest of their lives. In this vein, we sincerely thank you for your help in implementing our first life-skills training project, so that we may achieve our goal of securing a bright future for these vulnerable children under our care.
Thank you for taking an interest in the welfare & future of those less fortunate. May God richly bless you for your kind & generous hearts!
Sincerely yours,
Jackie
